Our baby shower in NC...29 weeks pregnant!
After waiting forever...my midwife finally came into my exam room. They were backed up an hour and a half today so I was pretty ticked off by the time it was my turn. I get so mad but then I really think about it...she is just answering everyone Else's questions like she will have to answer mine. Its good that she spends so much time with each patient, even though its only supposed to be a 15 minute appointment.
So she came in and told me to watch my weight...I was sneaking up to my max 35lbs...I know by the time I have this baby I will have gained at least 40-50lbs. I'm active and we eat, for the most part, pretty healthy...everyone has their days where they splurge a little. But I'm not so worried about it, its not like Ive gained WAY to much or anything. I'm actually small compared to most of the women due with me. I see them in Lamaze class and I'm like WOW, I'm kinda small compared to everyone. But anyways...she measured my uterus and I'm measuring 32 weeks...I'm only 31 weeks. Not that big of a deal. We listened to his little heart beat, 140 beats per minute which is great! She said that he is all the way HEAD DOWN....so that means I have a great chance of delivering the way I want. She said that he really couldn't change from here on out but it is possible until 35 weeks. Were getting super excited and we get to watch him kick and squirm from the outside of my belly which is neat for Tyler because he still doesn't have the whole "Its real, were having a baby" feeling yet. He puts his hands on my belly constantly and loves to feel him moving around. He also talks to him daily, which is the cutest thing EVER! He has been so wonderful and helpful, I couldn't ask for a better husband. Landen and I are so lucky to have him!
As for Traveling, were coming to WV for thanksgiving FOR SURE! We will be leaving on the 26th, next Wednesday, and leaving to come home on that following Monday. We are so excited to see everyone and our baby shower is Saturday the 29th with all the family. Its going to be great! Its not really a baby shower, its more a celebration or birthday type thing. Men and Woman will be there and we ask everyone to bring a little something (food) if you can! We will only be home for a few days and want everyone to be able to see us and celebrate together. It might be the last time they see us as a couple without a baby! Now for Christmas, that is a different story because I will be 36 weeks pregnant on Christmas day and our Midwife doesn't approve of traveling after 35 weeks. Our insurance (tricare) will only pay for our delivery here on base unless arranged in advance and we would have to transfer our care 100% to WV and have not choice but to deliver in WV..which we can't do because we have to be back here for work and such! So, depending on how I feel, we might chance it. We will be back here in NC by the time I turn 37 weeks, which is full term, and hopefully I won't go into labor before then anyways. Everyone else is telling us to chance it if I'm feeling okay and not dilated. My next appointment is December 17th and hopefully I will be feeling great and ready to travel. Its just 4 days and I really think we will be fine!
Well, that is about all I have for now. I can't wait to see everyone..Miss you all and lots of love!!
